This greeting card features six random objects chosen by D. Briker, the artist who painted the artworks in the Objects of Little Importance series. He chose these objects from the home or studio space of fellow artists and creative people in the Vancouver area such as Drew Shaffer. From the description by Drew Shaffer, these objects of little importance are:

  • Loden green hat purchased at the now defunct Byrnie Utz hat shop in Seattle
  • Clockwork lithographed tin fish, c.1940s. I love it because it’s yellow.
  • Tube of acrylic paint. It’s a bit of an awkward colour, but I love it anyway
  • Busted reading glasses. I peeled to black paint off them one day when I was waiting for somebody who was very late
  • iPhone cube with a bent prong… whoops
  • Pincushion in the form of a shoe. Made in the USSR from lacquered wood and fabric printed with Soviet propagandist motifs*. A gift from a friend in Greece
