For a limited run, from Thursday, December 5 to Sunday, December 15, 2024: Twisted Dog Theatre presents the world premiere of Unbelievably Believable, written and directed by company founder Catherine Maleikova. Come experience magic, comedy and unforgettable characters in a celebration of the spirit of Toronto.

A holiday family show for all ages!

What could happen on a December evening just before the holidays? Something magical, of course – especially when you have a dreamy little mouse as a co-worker, wearing a broken coffee mug as a suit of armour. She won’t stop bringing her dreams to life: dragons, talking oceans, magical winter horses – will the magic ever end? We hope not! Come and witness just how far your dreams can take you.

A show to be remembered long after the holidays

Unbelievably Believable is a story filled with humourous characters, special effects, multimedia projections, songs, puppetry, drama and unexpected story twists. This unique tale unfolds at a bustling crossroads in Toronto – the intersection of Jarvis and Richmond streets – and is filled with local connections, from the Riverdale neighbourhood, to the legendary Mystic Muffin café and its owner Elias Makhoul. It’s a tribute to the city that many call home – their roots, true selves, dreams and friendships – a show to be remembered long after the holidays.

Produced by Twisted Dog Theatre, a Dora Mavor Moore Award-nominated company and taking place at Red Sandcastle Theatre. Featuring songs by Aimee Carty, Sally Jaeger, Karolina Stepien, Ivan Maleikov and Catherine Maleikova. Starring Katie Crompton, Gregory Katsenelson and Sophie St. Jean, with puppet design by Denis Gonobolin and Natalie Bakulev.

About Twisted Dog Theatre

Founded by Catherine Maleikova in 2022, Twisted Dog Theatre started with a big dream. The dream was to start a theatre in Toronto that could entertain families with children by showing them the best performances, selected with great love for the little audience. Twisted Dog Theatre is dedicated to creating performances in collaboration with esteemed directors and artists. They prioritize quality in every production and are committed to elevating children’s entertainment. Their goal is to present theatre shows that entertain, educate and bring families together. Notable productions include The Incredible Adventures of Baron Munchausen and Pin-Pin the Eggsplorer.

Unbelievably Believable was produced with the support of the Ontario Art Council.
