Station Gallery Poetry Night

Words to fill your soul, surrounded by art

For one night only, on Wednesday, May 15, Station Gallery in Whitby, ON, presents Poetry Night, hosted by poet, writer and Durham Region Branch Manager for The Ontario Poetry Society Lisa Reynolds. Featured poets include (in alphabetical order) Clara Blackwood, Domenico Capilongo, Simon Constam, Josie Di Sciascio Andrews, Michael Fraser, Patrick Meade, Lisa Reynolds and Elana Wolff.

Held at Station Gallery – a historic former Whitby train station turned art gallery and creative hub – and organized by Poetry Night team founding members Lisa Reynolds and Patrick Meade, and Station Gallery Curator Olex Wlasenko – this is an all-ages event, with the featured poets reading from their work.

During intermission there will be free refreshments, including coffee from a local Starbucks, and sweet treats courtesy of an anonymous benefactor. Attendees will have the opportunity to mingle with and purchase books directly from featured poets. There will also be a raffle for poetry and fiction/non-fiction books, donated by poet friends and The Ontario Poetry Society. Tickets for the raffle are $5 each or 3 for $10. All proceeds from the raffle are donated to Youth Programs at Station Gallery.

Station Gallery Poetry Night sponsors: League of Canadian Poets, The Ontario Poetry Society, The Writers’ Union of Canada and the local Starbucks at 25 Consumers Drive in Whitby.
