The first Thursday of every month, join The Regional Assembly of Text at their Vancouver shop for a monthly letter writing club. This free event is open to everyone, especially those who love writing letters as much as they love receiving them.

The Letter Writing Club has been gathering at The Regional Assembly of Text’s flagship store to write letters to their loved ones since September 2005 (put on hold during the pandemic). Supplies are provided: tea, cookies, paper, envelopes, typewriters and encouragement!

About The Regional Assembly of Text

The Regional Assembly of Text is a Canadian stationery and gift store owned by Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design graduates Brandy Fedoruk and Rebecca Dolen. Their Vancouver, B.C. location opened in August 2005 and, in March 2013, they opened a second smaller shop in downtown Victoria, B.C. The store focuses on text as a theme, and features lots of lovely items designed and built by the owners, who are inspired nostalgic things like vintage office supplies, old textbooks, maps and product design. Event details

Type of event: monthly letter writing event

Date: First Thursday of every month (for example, the event for September 2024 would be Thursday, September 5).

Start times: There are two sessions to choose from with 18 spots each – first come, first served. If you arrive for the first session and it’s full, you can take a number and come back for the second session.

  • First session: Starts at 7:00 PM PT
  • Second session: Starts at 8:00 PM PT

Duration: Each session lasts for 1 hour (recurring event)

Number of sessions: 2 (each month on the same night)

Cost: Free & supplies are provided.
