On January 5, join Killer B Cinema for Turkish Star Wars (a.k.a. The Man Who Saved the World)

Start off the New Year with Killer B’s January screening of Turkish Star Wars. This unauthorized 1980s Turkish reimagining of the sci-fi classic is guaranteed to be one of the craziest films you’ve ever seen. All in high-definition. It’s a movie you don’t want to miss!

Directed by Çetin İnanç, Turkish Star Wars (a.k.a. The Man Who Saved the World) is a 1982 Turkish sci-fi fantasy martial arts adventure film starring actor/martial artist Cüneyt Arkın.

The film follows the adventures of Murat and Ali, who find themselves on an alien desert planet after their spaceships crash during a battle (depicted with footage from Star Wars and newsreel clips of Soviet and American rocket launches). Captured by an evil wizard, Murat and Ali find themselves fighting for their lives – and the world – as the wizard attempts to seduce Murat into helping him conquer Earth.
