On June 2, a man-ape goes on a murderous rampage!
Get ready for the 1972 Mexican horror classic Night of the Bloody Apes! It’s got lucha libre.1 It’s got beautiful female wrestlers. It’s got ape(s)… maybe one ape… maybe more! You’ll have to see the movie to find out.
About Night of the Bloody Apes
Night of the Bloody Ape(s) is the 1972 English-language version of the 1969 Mexican horror film La Horripilante bestia humana (The Horrible Man-Beast), also known as Horror y sexo (Horror and Sex) and as Gomar—The Human Gorilla. Directed by René Cardona, it’s a remake of his 1962 film Las Luchadoras contra el medico asesino (The Wrestling Women vs. the Killer Doctor; U.S. title Doctor of Doom), the first in a series of films that combine aspects of the lucha libre and horror genres.2
A mad scientist uses a gorilla’s heart to perform a heart transplant on his son, a life-saving procedure that goes horribly wrong as his son undergoes a terrifying transformation into a half-man, half-ape mutant and sets out on a murderous rampage.
