at an annual artist-run fine art photography exhibition.

blue: Exhibition at Gallery 44

blue (formerly 365) is Gallery 44’s annual member-run exhibition, a non-juried selection of works created by members over the past year. This year’s exhibit was curated by member Grace Wang.

About the theme

“blue

a ubiquitous color

from the faintest wisp that pulses in your veins, the creamy cobalt of Chinese porcelain, the deep richness of lapis lazuli, to the indigo of a pair of jeans

blue is a feeling, music, the heart of a flame. More than anything blue is a chameleon — transforming and transmuting our emotions and lives.

What does blue mean to you?”

— Grace Wang, curator

About Gallery 44

Gallery 44 is an artist-run creative community hub for contemporary photography. They host photography art exhibitions, offer education programs and provide facilities for photo production. While originally founded in Toronto in 1979 by a small group of artists who came together to share a darkroom and studio, they have since moved into their current home at 401 Richmond Street West, grown to over 500 artist members and expanded their public programming.
